This collection contains organizational documents, scientific reports, publications, news clippings, legal briefs and papers, legislation, correspondence, and ephemera. The collection is arranged into eight series: CARD - includes information and documents generated by and relevant to the organization itself and a set of writings and documents sent to CARD from Frances Tyson (d. 2002). WIPP - contains information and documents pertaining to the Waste Isolation Pilot Plant. Department of Energy (DOE) - contains documents related to the DOE complex. Miscellaneous - includes information on hazardous, non-radioactive waste, general environmental issues, science and the philosophy of science, etc. A folder of ephemera is included in this series. Alternatives - contains information on alternative energy sources, alternative living, Nuclear Free Zones, alternative organizations and platforms, organizing resources and information, and alternative campaigns and actions. News Clippings - clippings relevant to the work of CARD, also clippings related to additional subjects that are part of this collection. Publications - includes newsletters and magazines to which CARD has subscribed and /or those produced by CARD allies. Oversized - contains larger items that have been removed from the other series.
